B. GABRIEL (GABE) SYLVIA JR. – SENIOR PASTOR
Gabe is a graduate of the United States Military Academy (B.S.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.Div.) and Reformed Theological Seminary (D. Min.). He has served in various churches from fledgling church plants, non-denominational mega-churches, to historic Anglican congregations older than our country. Doctrine and Belief
Christ Our Hope is committed to the system of doctrine summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith along with the Shorter and Larger Catechisms (est. 1648). Christ Our Hope readily acknowledge the wider family of God and appreciates the work of God’s Spirit in traditions other than their own. While Christ Our Hope gladly stands unified with other Christ-worshiping and gospel-believing (evangelical) churches, they are not fundamentalist (truth-without-grace) nor liberal (grace-without-truth).
Purpose and Vision
The purpose of Christ Our Hope church is to know and offer the power of Christ’s hope.
What that purpose looks like is described in the church's three-part vision, to be: conformed to Christ, courageous in life, compelled to serve.
Christ Our Hope works out this purpose and vision in practical ways through their Ministry Commitments: Biblical worship, discipleship education, covenant community, empowering mercy, intentional outreach.
